Actos is a prescription medication for type 2 diabetes that helps to control your blood sugar (glucose) levels.  It does this by making the cells in your body more sensitive to insulin (the hormone produced by the pancreas that allows you to use blood sugar as energy) and allowing the cells to pass on the sugar instead of building it up to dangerous levels.
